facEmote ("facEmote", "we", "us") turns photos of your facial expressions into personalized sticker packs. Because the product is literally built from pictures of your face, we want to be unusually clear about what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
The short version: your photos are used only to create your stickers. We don't sell your data, we don't use your face for advertising or identification, and you can delete everything — account, photos, and stickers — at any time.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Basic profile details you choose to add (such as a display name).
Photos and face data
- Expression captures. Photos you take in the app's capture flow (for example, your "Happy" or "Surprised" face). These are stored as image cutouts linked to your account.
- Generated stickers. The illustrated sticker images our AI creates from your captures.
We use your photos for one purpose: generating and displaying your stickers. We do not use them for facial recognition, identification, biometric matching, advertising, or training AI models. Face data is never shared with third parties except the AI image-generation providers listed below, strictly to create your stickers.
Purchase information
- Your subscription or purchase status (for example, whether Pro is active), received from Apple. All payments are processed by Apple — we never see your card details.
Usage information
- In-app activity needed for features to work, such as which emotions you've unlocked, sticker send counts (used for unlock rewards), and referral codes you share or redeem.
- Basic device and diagnostic information (app version, iOS version, crash logs) to keep the app working.
2. How we use your information
- To create your personalized sticker packs from your expression captures.
- To sync your stickers across the app and its iMessage extension.
- To operate your account, unlocks, referrals, and purchases.
- To provide support and fix problems.
- To send service emails related to your account or purchases.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads.
3. Who processes your data
facEmote runs on a small set of service providers, each used only for what's listed here:

Images sent to AI providers are used to generate your stickers and are not retained by us beyond that purpose. These providers process data under their own privacy commitments and our instructions.
4. Where your stickers live on your device
So the iMessage extension can show your stickers, the app copies them into a shared container on your iPhone that only facEmote and its Messages extension can read. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
5. How long we keep data
- Your photos, stickers, and account data are kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, your photos, stickers, and personal data are deleted from our systems. Some minimal records (such as purchase transactions) may be retained where required for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access & export. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion. Delete your account from the app's settings, or email us and we'll do it for you. This removes your photos and stickers from our servers.
- Correction. You can update your account details in the app.
- Camera access. The camera is used only when you capture; you can revoke access in iOS Settings at any time (capture features will stop working).
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional statutory rights. We honor valid requests under applicable law — email support@facemote.com to exercise any of them.
7. Security
Your data is stored with access controls so only your account can read your photos and stickers, and transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that a stranger can't browse your face.
8. Children
facEmote is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above, and where appropriate notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
